Our team from Prodigy had an early start on Friday 5th May to travel from Cavan Digital Hub to Santry Demesne Northwood park Santry, Dublin 9 for tree planting with Salesforce and Tableau Solution Engineers.
Fighting Climate Change – Together
The purpose of our road trip was to join forces with Salesforce and Tableau Solution Engineers to plant some trees. This initiative is part of Salesforce wider commitment to fight climate change.
Rachael Healy of Salesforce Ireland advises that Salesforce partners with the Crann Easy Treesie Project, planting one million trees with Ireland’s one million schoolchildren by end of 2024 planting season. It is part of the UNEP Plant-for-the-Planet challenge. Salesforce will be making a donation to the organisation as part of the volunteering activity.
Fun & Educational
This event itself was led by the very inspiring Social Entrepreneurs Orla Farrell and Andrew Clinch of Crann.ie Crann Easy Treesie
It was a fantastic morning all around as many of the Salesforce and Tableau team got the chance to meet up with each other in the fresh air on a beautiful morning. This is all part of their annual Salesforce Volunteer Time Off – VTO benefit.
It was fun too with both teams rocking those tunes. Orla came laden with prizes, with our own Donal cleaning up in the shirt department (#ShirtOfShame #LessSaidTheBetter)
Santry Walled Garden
One of the highlights of the morning was being treated to a guided tour of the walled Santry community garden from Lead Gardener Ciarán Conneely. Such a great insight into biodiversity. Many of us were left inspired and eager to hear more.
After all the hard work, Prodigy was delighted to host lunch in nearby Crown Plaza Hotel.
Kudos to Rachel Healy for organising the event.
Looking forward to planting some more trees in Cavan.
